WELCOME!!!

WELCOME!
The Cornell School Library serves all of the students in grades K-12. With over 14,000 books in both libraries we circulate 10,000 books a year to the over 600 students that we serve.

BATTLE OF THE BOOKS
The battle of the Books program is in full swing. Students have been reading since November and are gearing up for their competitions at the end of February and beginning of March. Students meet after school during the Cornell PRIDE Program to read and practice with their teammates.

GREENCITY REMIX
Cornell students will be participating in this exciting program this year. Students will be partnering with another local school to create an art installation that will be on display at the Heinz History Center. Stay tuned for more details.

Historical Thinking
High school learners from across the region will critically and creatively examine how social change happens. By actively constructing the history of Pittsburgh’s environmental Smoke Control campaign (1940s-1950s), learners will identify strategies and practices that were used to advance change or prevent it.
Relevance
With the guidance of local activists, learners will consider how this new understanding applies to issues that are important to them today.
Design
To celebrate and reflect on their experience, learners will design an exhibit to be installed at the Heinz History Center and opened to the public. The display will remix the story of Smoke Control in a way that demonstrates its relevance to today’s issues and challenges.

BARNES & NOBLE BOOK FAIR

The Cornell book fair at Barnes and Noble was a great success! Thanks to everyone who came out and participated, we earned over $800.00 for the Cornell Library!! We also purchased some fantastic new books for the library during the book fair. Stop by and check these new titles out.
